Anxiety

Stress, tension, crisis, trauma, jitters, sweats, phobias, panic… there are so many terms and adjectives associated with and describing various forms of anxiety.

Did you know that anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults, or about 18% of the population? Perhaps you are one of them. Below are a few of the major anxiety-related disorders:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorder
  • Specific Phobias

Perhaps you are seeking someone who has a successful history working with individuals suffering with one or more of the above disorders; or maybe you just can’t seem to get control of the stress in your life.

Depression

It is not unusual for someone with an anxiety disorder to also be troubled with depression or vice versa. Another interesting statistic is that nearly one-half of those diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.

Depression is a condition where you feel discouraged, hopeless, sad, lack motivation, and are often disinterested in life in general. If you have had these feelings for more than two weeks and/or you have noticed that these feelings are beginning to interfere with your normal daily activities (e.g., caring for your family, going to work, or spending time with friends), you are likely experiencing a major depressive episode.

At Lost and Found, we implement a client-customized version of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat individuals suffering with depression. It focuses on identifying, understanding, and changing thinking and behavior patterns. Participating in this type of therapy will require you to be actively involved in your own recovery.
