How much do you charge?

The current fee is $75 for a 50-minute therapy session for individuals and $125 per session for couples.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

We believe we have one of the most competitive rates available; so we do not offer a sliding scale.

What methods of payment do you accept?

As our rates are very competitive, Lost & Found currently accepts cash and checks. We do not work with insurance companies. We are currently evaluating credit card options and hope to accept major credit cards soon!

How do I schedule an initial consultation?

Please feel free to call our office phone at (804) 991-8634 any time and leave a confidential message, and we will return your call promptly to schedule an appointment.

How long are the sessions?

Therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes long.

What should I expect during the initial consultation?

Plan on arriving about 15 minutes early to your first session in order to complete necessary documentation. The first session serves as an opportunity to meet and get to know one another. During that time, your therapist will be working to develop an understanding of the concerns you bring to therapy.

You will have an opportunity to learn how we engage in therapy and decide if you feel comfortable with the style in which we work. The counseling relationship quality between client and therapist is paramount in determining the effectiveness of the process and outcome.

Are the sessions kept confidential?

The therapy sessions and all information you disclose are kept confidential. Exceptions to confidentiality, which are required by law for all human service practitioners in the State of Virginia, are paraphrased below:

  • If you pose a threat to harm yourself, we are mandated (legally bound) and ethically bound to notify appropriate parties who can intervene to protect you.
  • If you indicate a serious threat or intention to harm another person, we are mandated to warn the intended victim(s) and the police.
  • We are required by law to report any suspicion of child or elder abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
